A weekend with friends

We had a great weekend with friends in Robertson, a couple of hours south of Sydney, to celebrate birthdays. We hired this huge house with a log fire and a full size snooker table to keep the guys occupied!

It was very cold and the first time we've seen frost for a long time!

We enjoyed one afternoon doing some cheese and wine tasting.

We also visited a treetop walk through the rainforest with fantastic views towards the coast.

Touring the Top End

These school holidays started with a week long tour of the Top End of Australia. We flew up to Darwin and hired a four-wheel drive campervan to drive through Kakadu National Park, down to Katherine Gorge and up to Litchfield National Park. Australia continues to amaze us with its variety and uniqueness. This time we saw incredible wetlands that are covered in metres of rain every year from December to March. The floods drop down during the dry season to reveal waterways with abundant plants and wildlife. We saw huge crocs in the wild (swimming was not allowed in most places!). We made the most of each day, getting up early to see the sunrise, when the birdlife is most active. Eifion's favourite part was a 4WD trip we did to Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls which was a couple of hours drive into the bush. It was great fun travelling along unsealed roads, through creeks, soft sand and croc infested rivers! Tarmac roads seem very boring in comparison! Enjoy the photos.

In the second week I helped out at our Church's Conference, where thousands of people come from different churches all over the world to hear different speakers and worship together. It happens every year and is always an incredible event. I was helping in the marquee selling resources. Eifion came after work on the closing night for an amazing night with 25,000 people! Here is a video of the highlights from the week:

Other than that, I've been enjoying catching up with friends for lunch, celebrating birthdays, having friends round for meals and going for walks. Back to school on Monday - it always goes far too quickly!
